Nina Hagen (Album)

Nina Hagen is a 1989 album by, of course, Nina Hagen. Its diferrent from any of her previous albums, no make up, no big hair, still the same Nina.

The tracks, one by one are:

"Move Over" (Janis Joplin) :: of course! I don't like JJ, but its a good start for the album, Nina makes the song enjoyable.
"Super Freak Family" (Hagen, Billy Liesegang) :: FUN TRACK!
"Love Heart Attack" (Junger Junior, Dawson Miller) :: Good transition song
"Hold Me" (Traditional, Billy Liesegang) :: my favorite: he voice is powerfull on this one.
"Vegas" (Doc Pomus, Mort Shuman) Makes me want to gamble
"Live on Mars" (Hagen, Zeus B. Held) :: I wish I could!
"Dope Sucks" (Herman Brood) :: Sounds like Herman Brood
"Only Seventeen" (Billy Liesegang, Dawson Miller, Zeus B. Held, Hagen) :: I like what she says abour work.
"Where's the Party" (Hagen, Bill Liesegang) : Where is the party?
"Michail, Michail (Gorbachev Rap)" (Wolf Biermann) : LOVEEE this song, go GORBACHEV!
"Ave Maria" (Franz Schubert, arranged by Hagen, Zeus B. Held) : Perfect example of Ninas opera background.

The suprising aspect of the album is the art work:
Jean-Paul Gaultier??!!!

Nina Looks soo nice though....

Nina Hagen and Punk

Nina Hagen is from East Berlin, a dissident’s stepdaughter. As she started out in the 70's with her band the automobiles, you can see in her eyes, the crazyness that is she, while singing "" "Du hast den Farbfilm vergessen""

Her outfits are outragious, her lyrics true to herslef and in a way she has a huge heart, with tons of madness going on. She understands our corrupt world and is not afraid to be who she really is. I love her.

And so, viz: Nina Hagen. I guess all the late ’70s punks were about epater les bourgeoisie but Nina’s even weirder, even after she went to the West: always true to herslef.

In the pic above she is with Herman Brood....just in case anyone wondered...
